Primus Telecommunications Canada, Inc. is one of the largest alternative telecommunications service providers in Canada, offering consumer and business telecommunications services nationwide. In the United States, Primus provides digital home phone (VoIP) service under the Lingo brand. The company was founded in 1997 and has since grown to over 600 employees in offices across Canada including Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa, London and Edmundston. It was acquired by York Capital Management in July 2013. Primus is an advocate of greater competition in the telecommunications sector, and has presented at the Canadian Radio and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) hearings on the subject. The company contends that if the CRTC can help smaller players compete fairly with the incumbent providers (Bell, Telus and Rogers), the consumer ultimately benefits by having access to more affordable options for telecommunications and internet services. ==Primus Residential Services== Primus provides Canadian households with a range of connectivity options, including high speed internet, home phone, wireless and long distance plans. The company sells these services individually and on a bundled basis. A unique feature of their residential home phone service is Telemarketing Guard, which blocks unwanted telemarketing calls. Developed by Primus, the service is offered free of charge and identifies frequent mass telemarketing calls and then offers customers the choice of blocking the call, sending it to voice mail, or accepting it. In 2014, Primus announced its Protecting Canadian Families Online initiative, the objective of which is to provide Canadians with tools to ensure their online interactions are positive and safe. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Primus Canada」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
